Yahoo and Twitter forms TweetNews

I was just surfing the news on my newly installed Windows 7 (which is of course for trail period) when I got to read it about a new search Engine formed by Yahoo and Twitter.

Twitter is a good source to get to know the latest about anything. It’s like a news channel...Getting updated every second from all over the world. People who are little tech savvy know or we can say that they have little idea...How search engine works. I have read it somewhere that Google takes 25 minutes to update a new story...as it works according to its algorithms. Whereas in twitter…you just need to update it...and it’s live... This is instant.

According to the situation and demand of the news by people online, it needs to take on a fast turn. People want news instant... if they search for it online and if it takes time to display it later...Then what’s the use. Twitter can provide you the news update but not the whole story.

When it comes to whole story or news, users tend to search major news websites like Google news. [As a reference, most "hot news stories" take 25 minutes or longer to reach Google's news pages. -Ed]

Yahoo Boss engineer Vik Singh has developed TweetNews. TweetNews combines the search results from Yahoo and compare it with topics which are hitting Twitter. It gives a search engine which provides the result combined with the Twitter.

Google is the Winner of search market in US in 2008

I have recently installed Windows 7 beta and was wondering about MIcrosoft .... "what a successor Microsoft has launched"... Just wondering about its products like operating systems, internet browsers, search engine. I recently read it somewhere that it has had a fall of near about 85 in searches.

It didn’t come to me as a surprise, Today Google is ruling internet searches with 69.5% in the 2008 year. Amazingly it has increased by 8 % from the last year according to a survey done by Hitwise.

Yahoo was at second place with had near about 19. 2 searches, which has dropped from the search volume of 11 % (if we compare it to the last month), and the biggest shock came from Microsoft which dropped by 32%. This year searches made by Microsoft search engine were just 5.9%.

But if we look at data monthly then we can see that Microsoft searches has increased from last four to five months which gives hope to increase its searches in future.

Let’s see...Which search engine gets to the top this year.

Microsoft strikes deals with Dell for the sake of Live search

Finally Microsoft has taken a step to get back its earlier position in the market. Microsoft is hoping two distribution deals will help him give live search a boost. Hopefully it may work for Microsoft. Soon the company will be announcing a global deal with Dell that will see Live Search be the default search engine and a Windows Live toolbar bundled on the bulk of consumer and small-business PCs sold by the computer maker over the next three years. That deal is in addition to a five-year deal with Verizon Wireless, which leaked out earlier on Wednesday.

Microsoft Windows Vista was not at all a success in operating systems, and in Browsers, Internet Explorer has lost its market share as well. And for last 3 – 4 years it has been trying to cope up with the challenge by Google Search Engine. Searches fell down by 16.7 percent in Microsoft live search and if we talk about yahoo searches, they have also fell down near about16.1% whereas   Google searches were increased by 21.7%.

It’s high time for Microsoft to deal with the situation, to improve their products and Microsoft support as the market is already very competitive.

Mehdi, Microsoft Senior Vice President acknowledged that Microsoft needs more than distribution deals to truly compete with Google. "These distribution partnerships are part of our strategy," he said. "We know we have to do a lot of other things, including improve the product, including being able to market direct with consumers, and build loyalty and brand around our offering." He also mentioned the earlier deal with HP and Lenovo."We've gotten to a point where the product is now in a good enough state that we want to start to get it out more formally in front of more customers These two partnerships are very significant for us, because it...gives an opportunity to put our search offering out before a broader audience now in a pretty mainstream way, and I think you should think about it as the first step of us slowly bringing up the dial on how we start to promote our product.”

Let’s see… whether cracking deals with other companies for distribution work for Microsoft or not.

Last Google Page rank Update on New Year’s Eve

Google has updated page rank on New Year’s Eve. Some are happy about it and so are not.  Matt cuts has updated it on his blog, "In case you didn’t see where I confirmed it on Twitter, Google recently did a toolbar PageRank update. It’s pretty much done now. If you want more info, I’ve answered questions about PageRank and the Google Toolbar in the past." and confirmed it on twitter as well.

It is the fact that the PageRank which is shown on the Google Toolbar is not enough to judge as to how Google ranks your site. A lot of other factors are involved.
