Why Has My Computer Slowed?

This blog describe reason of slow computer and provides tech support tips to make computer fast. There are many reasons a Windows computer can slow down and all of the reasons are either fixable or preventable. Usually the cause of this issue is combination of things, you can easily speed up your Windows computer by a little maintenance.

Issue related to operating system:

If your Windows computer is slow then it is possible that you have a Microsoft Windows operating system related issue that cannot be explained. Please try below steps to help make sure this is the case:

1. Reboot the computer and enter CMOS setup as the computer is booting.
2. After loading the computer in CMOS setup, let the computer sit.

Computer Virus:

It is a possibility that your computer is infected by a virus that slows your Windows computer. If your Windows computer works slow when you run a specific program only then it may be infected with virus.

To remove computer virus, you can install a good antivirus and scan your Windows computer with that antivirus program.

Hard drive nearly full:

A full hard drive can also cause your Windows computer to slow down. Try to remove unnecessary computer software which you don't use anymore or which you don't require. Always leave a little available space for read/write process.

Fragmentation may also cause your computer to work slow. A computer seeks out for the requested data before accessing it. Windows computer can quickly access files if they are placed are contiguously on the drive. You must defragment the hard drive frequently by using Defragmentation tools on Windows computer.
